Miriam Sams-Roberson was born in Savannah, Georgia on May 12, 1944 to Lewis Sams II and Mozella Cooper Sams and was the eight of eleven children. She was a graduate of Alfred E. Beach High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Savannah State College. She was employed with Greenbriar, EOA, and Gateway from where she retired after many years of service. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and all who knew her.
Miriam died at Candler Hospital after a long illness on friday, August 17, 2012.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Lewis Sams II and Mozella Cooper Sams; son Freddie Lee Bouyer, Jr.; and siblings, Lewis Sams III, Lucille Mincey, Mildred Lee, and Anthony Sams.
She will be geratly missed by: her husband, Jessie L. Roberson II; sons, Phillip Kibler (Angela), Gregory Kibler, and Stephen Kibler; step-sons, Bernard, Kenneth, Javance, and Jahzie Roberson; step-daughters, Geneva Roberson and Adrianne Wright; brother and sisters, Jerome Sams (Frances), Gloria Howell, Betty Heck, Carol Houston, Vivian Cottrell, and Charlotte Sweat (George); several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 7~8 PM at Williams & Williams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Bible Baptist Church. Interment will be private.
