Muriel Maribeth Conaway died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2011 from the First Baptist Church of the Islands with Pastor Brooks Cail officiating, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Dave Castner, Bob Rudd, Kevin Wetmore, John Kortes, Jay Howard and Willie Weil serving as pallbearers.
Maribeth was born January 23, 1952 in Savannah to the late John David Franklin McCall and Muriel Boyles McCall. She was employed with Kroger’s of Savannah for over 15 years and worked in various positions within the company. Maribeth was a very accomplished pianist and pipe organist having play both in local churches in her earlier years. She was a graduate of Savannah High School, longtime member of First Baptist Church of the Islands and a very loving wife and a dedicated mother. The couple celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary last month.
Survivors include: husband, Barry K. Conaway; a daughter, Meredith Serelle Conaway; a brother and sister-in-law, John Franklin McCall and wife Gina; sister-in-law, Angie Lee all of Savannah. Several niece and nephews also survives.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
