Nuel Mungin

Mr. Nuel "Sonny-Love" Mungin Sr, was born to the late Mr. Maye and Mrs. Madeline Mungin on December 22, 1917. He was educated in the Public schools of Chatham County. Employed as a Cement-Mason with Plaster and Cement Local 15, he retired in 1979. He was united in holy matrimony to the late European Haynes Mungin. To this union three children were born: Ms. Sandra M. Sumpter, Ms. Madeline M. Waldburg, and Mr. Nuel Mungin Jr., who preceded, him in death. On Sunday, November 9, 2008, "Sonny-Love" in the comfort of his home quietly slipped away to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He leaves to cherish his memories: Sandra M. Sumpter and Madeline M. Waldburg of Savannah; five grandchildren, Sylvester Waldburg Jr., Jacqueline Sumpter and Zinnia (Wilbert) Young of Savannah, Keith and Ryan Mungin of Texas; Six great grandchildren: Jumonta A. Waldburg, Ahmad D. Young, Alan "AJ" Gilford, Alexus Monay Young, Sabria Waldburg, and Makia Green all of Savannah; a niece, Deloris Baker of Savannah; three nephews: John (Elma) Mungin Jr. of Savannah, James Al (Desiree) Mungin of Warner Robbins, Ga. and Charles E. (Pearl) Mungin of Beaufort SC; a host of other relative and friends. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2008 at Williams and Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
