Robert Louis Becton
SAVANNAH- Robert Louis Becton, 88, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Candler Hospital.
He was born in Millen, Georgia, on February 9, 1927. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy from February 1944 to June 1946. He loved airplanes and flying. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and was in the Timothy Sunday School Class. He was a Mason and was retired from National Gypsum Company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robbie G. Becton, his mother, Louidean Becton, and two brothers, Dean Becton and Harry Becton.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary C. Becton, two sons, Robert Wayne Becton and Stephen Louis Becton (Cookie), one brother, Jerry Becton of Millen, 10 grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and special cousins Christopher Curtis and Mandy Barnes.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at First Baptist Church of Garden City.
Remembrances may be made to First Baptist Church of Garden City.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Millen, Georgia, at 3:00 P.M.
