Mr. Robert L. Green, Jr., 61, had his transition Friday February 22, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Savannah, GA. At an early age he was baptized at Second Evergreen Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Robert Sweet. He received his education in the public schools of Chatham County graduating from Sol C. Johnson High School in 1964, where he was a track star. With truck driving being one of his loves, his employment history has been with several trucking companies driving 18 wheelers across the United States. At the time of his transition, he was an employee of World Wide Trucking Co. Previously, he was a truck driver for Bo Mark Trucking Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marie Green. Survivors include two daughters: Naomi Green and Roberta Green, both of Savannah; two step daughters, Sabrina Epps (Charles), and Shandra Wilson (Brian), all of Savannah and one step son, Kenneth Ellis; two sisters: Jeannette Westley (Jimmie), and Hazel Roberta Green, both of Savannah, Grandchildren, Step Grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces, ousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 6-7 p.m. in the Williams and Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday February 29, 2008 at First African Baptist Church in East Savannah. Interment: Catholic Cemetery. Reposing at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
