Samuel Kevin "Jake" Harden was born in Savannah, Georgia on January 16, 1961 to the late Betty Jean Lyons and Abraham Harden. He was educated in the Chathan County Public School System. He worked as a pipe fitter and concrete finisher until his death.
On Monday, June 8, 2009, Samuel parted this life bound for his new home.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Ernestine Strickland; three daughters, Tortilla Hamilton (Michael) of Savannah, GA, Ebony Wright of Dublin, GA, and Rachel Graham of Savnnah, GA; two sons, Samuel Kevin Harden Jr., of Boston, Massachusetts, and Antwan Harden of Savannah, GA; three stepsons, Woodraw Paris, Andres Johnson, and Michael Parker all of Savannah, GA; four sisters, Annette Sellers (Arthur)of Effingham, GA, Stephanie Harden Singleton (Anthony)of Savannah, GA, and Yvonne Lyons Sands of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers, Frank Harden (Virginia) of Statesboro, GA, and Clarence Harden of Miami, FL; one aunt, Cherish Solomon, of Savannah, GA; two uncles, Joseph Fisher and Eric Richardson, both of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law, Viola Harden, of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Destiny Jackson, Michael Hamilton, Korena Hamilton, all of Savannah, GA, Kerianona Smith and Marion Jefferson, both of Dublin, GA, Michael Osborne and Jose'ya Osborne, both of Savannah, GA; one God-brother, Herbert Watson; and a host of nieces, nephewws,cousins,grandnieces, grandnephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Samuel K. Harden Sr. will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Williams and Williams Funeral Home; 1012 East Gwinnett Street, Savannah, Georgia.
