Sara Brown Bizzard
Sara Brown Bizzard, age 65, was born in Savannah, Ga., on May 19, 1953
toAbraham (AC) and Ruth Smalls Brown. She graduated from
Savannah State University in 2001 where she obtained an undergraduate
degree in Criminal Justice and was an active member of the universities’ band.
She completed additional studies in 2004 at Armstrong Atlantic
University where she received a Masters Degree in Adult Education.
Her professional life and volunteerism was dedicated to serving the
needs of others in our community. As a longtime member of
the Martin de Porres Society she assisted with many of their
community service projects for disadvantaged children and their families.
Her spiritual life was strengthened through her membership at the
Historic First Bryan Baptist Church.
She was an outstanding employeeat the Savannah Regional Youth
Detention Center where she worked diligently as a Juvenile
Correctional Officer; a Case Manager at Gateway Behavioral Health
and as an Adult Health Literacy Teacher at Union Mission. Sara will be
remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, family
member and friend. She embraced each of these relationships with
much love. She has left a lasting legacy. In addition, to her parents
she was predeceased by her siblings Jake( Bubba) Brown, Jesse
Brown and Daisy Brown
Sara leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Mr. Atif Fard (Ricky)
Bizzard;sons, Mr. Ibn Bizzard (Ivory), Mr. Kasib Bizzard; daughters
Mrs. Erica Bizzard Grant (Alphonso), Ayesha Bizzard Daniels, Latifah
Bizzard and Ihsaan Bizzard- Goodine (Michael); siblings, Mrs. Inez
Anderson of New Britain, Conn., Ms. Mildred Brown, Ms. Susie (Penny)
Brown. and Ms. Betty Jean Brown; step- sister, Ms. Sarah Johnson;
mother- in - law, Mrs. Carrie Bell Jackson Bizzard; brother-in-law,
Mr. Abul Fard (Dean) Bizzard, 22 grandchildren and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at The Historic First
Bryan Baptist Church, Saturday, October 13, 2018, 11: 00 A.M.
Interment: Hillcrest Abbey West. Visitation will be Friday
from 6pm-8pm in the Chapel of Williams and Williams Funeral Home.
