SAVANNAH – Stella Anander Lamas, 91, of Savannah, GA passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Thunderbolt Transitional Care and Rehabilitation. Stella was born on February 28, 1925 in Short Creek, WV to Stephen and Pearl Anander. Stella was one of seven siblings along with William Anander, Nicholas Anander, Avanthea Anander, Anthony Anander, Anna Anander Mataxas, and John Anander. Stella married Louis C. Lamas at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in Savannah, GA in 1944. They met in Savannah when she was visiting from New York and married after a long distance courtship. They lived on Columbus Dr. in Savannah, GA for their entire married life until Louis passed away on April 25, 1999. Stella and Louis had three beautiful daughters: Barbara Lamas Chisholm, Mary Lamas Wetherholt, and Tia Lamas Ramsey. Stella and Louis were long standing members of St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church where she was active in the women’s group, Philoptochos. Stella and Louis owned and operated Lamas Cleaners and Ardsley Park Florist where Stella spent most of her days surrounded by flowers. One of her most memorable accomplishments as a florist was designing beautiful Greek-themed Christmas Trees for the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences. Stella was known for her Greek cooking, especially her pastries which she enjoyed sharing with others. Stella enjoyed many things, but nothing more than spending time with her family.
Stella is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Lamas Chisholm, married to Tom Chisholm of Jacksonville, FL; Mary Lamas Wetherholt, married to Ron Wetherholt of Savannah, GA; and Tia Lamas Ramsey, married to Edwin Ramsey Sr.; one sibling, John Anander, married to Bea Anander of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Jason Chisholm, married to Melissa of Jacksonville, FL; Ashley Chisholm Amorginos, married to Sean of Apopka, FL; Christina Clifton of Athens, GA; Kimberly Clifton of Charleston, SC; Stephanie Clifton Wohl, married to Jason of Benicia, CA; Lisa Ramsey Fogarty, married to John of Savannah, GA; and Edwin Ramsey, married to Cathryn of Savannah, GA; and 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Stella was preceded in death by, her husband, Louis Lamas of Savannah, GA; and her siblings, William Anander, Nicholas Anander, Avanthea Anander, Anthony Anander, and Anna Anander Mataxas.
The family of Stella would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Thunderbolt Transitional Care and Rehabilitation. The love and care they provided for Stella was exceptional and comforting.

Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church.
Trisagion Service: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with Father Vasile Mihai, officiating.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, with Father Vasile Mihai, officiating. Active pall bearers will be Edwin Ramsey Jr., Jason Chisholm, John Fogarty, John Anander, Harry Anander, and Brennan Jones.
Interment will be follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
