Thomas Garrett Corley, 83, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Candler Hospital. He was preceded in death by a brother Jack and a sister Jeanette.
Thomas was born and raised here in Savannah and attended local schools. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp (Dog Company), having served in Korea during the conflict. He received a Purple Heart for his gallantry.
Returning to Savannah after his service, Thomas went to work for the Local Union # 96, (H. & F.I. & A.W.), where he worked as an Insulator for 61 years. He held almost every office in the union. Thomas was also a Pension Trustee with the union for 20 years. He was a member of the Bacon Park Golf Club, Senior Blitz., a member of the Marine Corp League, D.A.V., a Charter Member of the Fenian Society, and a member of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, Thomas was a devout Catholic and was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist,
Thomas was devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, Reading, Fishing, Hunting, Boating and Gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathryn Patricia Parker Corley; a son, Garrett, (Vivian); three daughters, Kathy C. Bloom, (Terry), Deborah Duignan and Mary Maceyko, (Scott); nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 11:00am to 1:00pm, Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Graveside Service: 2:00pm, Tuesday, Feb 2, 2015, in the family lot at Bonaventure Cemetery with Fr. Patrick O’Brian officiating.
Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers and food to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Cathedral of St. John the Baptist or Charity of Choice.
