Mrs. Viola S. Comerie, 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Heritage Park Nursing Home.
She was a native of St. Helena Island, but later moved to Savannah, GA. Mrs. Comerie was a Communicate of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church. She was a member of the following organizations: Knights of St. Peter Claver (Ladies Auxiliary) #278, Council of Catholic Women, Legion of Mary, Alter Guild, St. Martin de porres, and the Voices of Resurrection Choir. She leaves to cherish her memories: cousins, Ellene Kemp (Sylvester) and Pamela Gilliard both of Savannah, GA, Hope Fleming Mallory (Tyrone) and Jean Fleming both of Philadelphia, PA, Dorothy Dorsett, of Bronx, NY, and Herman Goodwin, of Hampton, VA; God- daughter, Judy Johnson; Godson, Barry Wells of Long Island, NY; and a host of other cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Comerie, 10am Wednesday, at Resurrection of our Lord Catholic Church, 112 Fell St, Father Robert Chaney officiating. Interment: Catholic Cemetery. Reposing at the church Wednesday 8 am until hour of service. Visitation: 6-7pm Tuesday at the chapel.
