Wesley A. Hoke, Sr., 83, of Savannah, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Hospice Savannah.
He was born in Antige, Wisconsin, and lived there until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Korean Conflict, and he met his wife, while stationed at Hunter Air Force Base.
He was employed at Morgan’s Inc., in Savannah, Ga., and later at American Cyanamid. He had lived in Savannah for 40 years, before moving to Midway, Ga. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 40 years, before moving to Midway, Ga, in 1995. Wesley is a member of American Legion Post # 184.
He is a member of Midway First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Carbonell Hoke of Savannah, Ga; a daughter and son in law, Janice and David Smith of Savannah, Ga; a son and daughter in law, Wesley “Al” Jr., and Shannon Hoke of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Brad Smith, of Tennessee, Brian Smith of Athens, Ga., and Crystal Paris of Pooler,Ga. Five great grandchildren, Madyson Smith of Athens, Ga., Zachary Smith, of Athens, Ga., and Paige and Grayson Paris of Pooler, Ga., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Bonaventure Funeral Home, with Rev. J. C. Wright and Marty McKenzie, officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, in Savannah, Ga.
