William Russell Moore

William Russell Moore 96 of Guyton, GA passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was born and raised in Wilmington Ohio, where he entered the armed services. while stationed at Fort Stewart he met and married his wife of 64 years, Mary Claire (Kessler) Moore. He was a member of The sanctuary in Savannah, He retired from Johns- Manville,  where he worked as a long-haul truck driver. He loved hunting and the outdoors, and being with his family. he is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Dovie Marie(Kilgore) Moore, his wife Mary (Kessler) Moore of Savannah, two brothers and one sister of Ohio, one grandson and a granddaughter of Savannah, and one Son-in-law of South Carolina. He is survived by two sons, Rusty (Pam) Moore, and Randy (Julie) Moore; four daughters, Judy (Larry) Shuman, Pam Ray, Janet (Charles) Sherrod and Karen (Jimmy) Gernatt; a sister Shelba Jean Parks of Ohio, a Sister-in-law, Elizabeth Humphries of Guyton, Seventeen grandchildren, Thirty one great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Bonaventure Funeral Home. interment Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery
