Mr. Willie Roy Floyd Jr. 69 passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family, under the excellent care of Hospice Savannah.

Willie Roy Floyd, Jr. was born in Valdosta, Georgia on January 22, 1945 to Willie Roy Floyd, Sr. and Mary Burgman Floyd.  After the passing of his mother, Mr. Floyd and his sister were raised by their grandmother and aunt.  He attended the public schools of Crescent City, Florida.  He later moved to Hempstead, NY where he resided for 44 years.  He was employed by Mineola Glass and Long Island Lighting.  In 2006, he moved to Port Wentworth, Georgia.

Mr. Floyd was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hempstead, New York where he sang in the Male Chorus.  He also sang with the Zionaires Gospel Group.  He joined Clifton Baptist Church in 2009 where he sang in Clifton's Male Chorus and served as church sector.  In 2009, Mr. Floyd formed The Everready Gospel Singers group and was lead singer for the group until his health declined.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Sandra Davis-Floyd, Mary Middlebrooks, and Delores Collins; five daughters; three sons; eighteen grandchildren; one uncle, Richard C. Floyd, Detroit, MI; two aunts, Flora Berrian, Valdosta, GA and Fannie Epperson, Warner Robins, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Roy Floyd, Jr. will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Clifton Baptist Church, 100 Big Hill Road (Garden City), Rev. Oddie C. Luckett officiating.  Interment: Private.  Reposing at the church Saturday, 9:30 AM until hour of service.
